Zain Shafi Khan

Zain is a sophomore double majoring in International Relations and Journalism with a minor in Resistance to Genocide. He is extremely passionate about world issues such as religious freedom and the freedom of speech and expression. Having grown up in India and now studying in the US, he brings a fresh perspective and hopes to engage more in research focussed in the middle east and post soviet Eurasia. In a research class in the Central Asian country of Kyrgyzstan where he complied a report on the countries press and media freedom index through interactions and interviews with various journalists, human rights advocates, political opposition and government officials. Zain is also a writer for USC’s only foreign media publication Glimpse from the Globe. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, dancing and watching sitcoms.
