Melinda Xia is a junior at the University of Southern California, pursuing a major in Political Economy with minors in International Relations and Business Law. She’s on the pre-law track, and intends to pursue a career in international trade law. Melinda was raised in Ohio but has also lived in Hong Kong, which she considers her second home. From her experience living abroad, she shaped her initial interest in domestic politics into a greater passion for international relations and foreign policy analysis. Before attending law school, she hopes to either work at a think tank with a focus on foreign affairs, or go abroad to get a masters in international relations with a focus on China relations. Melinda is passionate about understanding critical global issues, especially with a focus on economics, trade, and international law. In her free time, you can find her reading on Doheny lawn, or listening to Taylor Swift (often at the same time).
