
Felipe Fernández
Felipe Fernández is a first-generation student in his senior year, double majoring in Business Administration and International Relations and the Global Economy. He grew up and spent most of his life in Colombia, Valledupar, where he became interested in social issues such as economic inequality and the human rights protection of Latin American activists. Outside the classroom, he has been involved with MOVE; a student-run club focused on social entrepreneurship. He also worked this summer as a research assistant for professor Patrick James in the Near Crisis Project and volunteered for the non-profit organization Al Otro Lado helping refugees cross the U.S.- Mexico border to seek medical attention.
